Masala Simmer Sauce

01In a large skillet combine onions, garlic, dates, ginger, and ¼ cup water; cook over medium-low 10 to 15 minutes or until onions start to turn golden brown, stirring frequently and adding water, 1 to 2 tablespoons at a time, as needed to prevent sticking. 2. Add the next seven ingredients (through black pepper) and ½ cup water. Cook 10 minutes more or until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally. Stir in salt. Let cool to room temperature. To Store: Refrigerate in a glass jar up to 1 week. Or freeze in a freezer-safe container up to 2 months.
